Privacy policy

Finger Chart is a static website. We have no accounts, no sign-up forms and no database of visitors. This policy explains the few things that do involve data.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not build a profile of you. It records things like the page visited, the referring site, country and browser type in aggregate.

Advertising

The site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads based on your visits here and elsewhere on the internet.

• Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through a Google-certified consent message before personalized ads are shown.

Sound and microphone

Notes are generated in your browser with the Web Audio API. Some tools, such as a tuner, may ask for microphone access. Microphone audio is processed only on your device to detect pitch. It is never recorded, stored or uploaded, and the browser only gives access after you tap to allow it.

Things stored in your browser

If you choose light or dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it. It never leaves your device.

Children

Finger Chart is a general-audience site for band students, parents and teachers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
